Yes, banning the cell phone from kids when in school is a good method to avoid distraction. This being because kids would normally be text messaging in class when they are trying to be taught. That is only one of the many reasons kids are banned from having cell phone use in the classroom. This is why i think banning cell phones in school is a good method to use to avoid and the distraction/disturbance.

Banning cell phone use during school is a realistic method to ensure students are not distracted from learining. Without the rule students could cheat on test or try to be funny by playing their ringtone. It would be totally disrespectful to teachers that are trying to teach a student while they’re having a conversation on the phone. The only reason a student should have a cell phone with them in school is if they get picked up at the end of the day or emergencies. Even in those situations they’re welcome to use a teachers phone.

  3. Dwanya:

Yes, i think that banning cellphone use during the school day is a realistic method to ensure students are not distracted frome learning because we dont receive any phone calls that might worry you or text messages that you have to reply to and by doing that you get distracted and dont listen to directions.

  4. Kyley:

yes i do think banning cellphone use during the day is a realistic method to ensure students because their cellphone could go off during class and they would answer it and not pay attention during school if you were “alowed” to use your cellphone. Also if the student’s cellphone did go off it would distract others in the class and also the teacher, and he/she would get mad and take it away and the student wouldnt get it back until he/she had learned his/her lesson.

  5. Alyssa B:

Banning cell phone usage during the school hours is a excellent idea because this way the students are not worried about text messages, phone calls and the other things that can be sent on cell phones. Students should follow the rules and not bring cell phones to school this way no cell phone would need to be taken away. The more this is put in effect the less trouble it will be for everyone else. It is disrespecful when a student tries to be funny and plays games or ringtones during class it disturbes students and staff. It is also disrespectful when the staff has a cell phone on and it rings. Any students are welcome to go to the office to use thier phone.

  6. Samantha:

Banning all cell phone use during school hours is a great realistic method to ensure that students are not distracted from their work. I dont think that students would learn anything if they could use their cell phone anytime they wanted to. I also think that if the students used their cell phone then it would just distract everyone else in class that wanted to learn. The only way a student should have their cell phone is if it is turned off and not in use. If they really need to use a phone they can ask the teacher to use theirs.

  7. Timeka:

I have mixed feeling about banning cellphones during a school day.I think they shouldnt ban them because if an emergency arises at school and no one is around to see you or hear you .Then again some students use there cellphones to cheat on test an IM people during class. When the cell phone rings during an important lesson or a test in creates a big distracton and gives the student a reason to talk oir goof around.Plus there are more distractions than cellphones like what people are wearing and what they did and who goes out with who.

  8. Steve:

I believe that if you stop kids from using their cell phones during normal class times, you can stop all inter-class conversation, which can be distracting. So unless you have two cups and a lot of string you are not talking to your friend down the hall taking a test you are taking next class. That cuts down on cheating also. You text your friend mid-class and say, “Hey, what is the answer to 7-B?” And they say back, “I’m pretty sure it’s A.” That is very much cheating and has it should be stopped.

  9. Matt H.:

Baning cell-phone use is important because it keeps the attention of the students at the lesson. Also, cell-phone use is an easy way to cheat, and therefore should be banned.

  10. Anthony:

Banning cell phones use during the school is a good way to avoid disraction at school. Kids usually will sit andtext message in class when there are bored. By elimating the cell phones they wont be texting in class and would be paying atttetion. Also when their cell phones would distract other students if they ring or you hear the buttons being pressed or hear there loud annoying ringtones on the bus. You could eliminate all these problems by taking away cell phones.

  11. Derek:

Banning a cell phone during school is a very good idea to avoid distraction. Without this rule, students would be uncontrolable becuase they would be talking to their friends instead of learning. Most kids like to play their cell phone ringtones during class. Students who do not have cell phones would be distracted from their work beaucse of the excessive noise of the ringtones. For example, every day when I walk into school, kids, especially Louis, play their rigntones either before or during homeroom and/or after school. This is why I think that banning cell phones during the dayis a realistic method.

  12. Caroline:

Banning The Use Of a cell Phone during school is a good idea because when the school day is going on you would not want a cell phone going off every second. another reason is beacuse if everybody used their cell phone during class everybody would be distracted and they would not learn or get anything done in class. If people Brought their cell phones to school and they played with them all day and the work had to be doen some how they would have more homework for home. which means they could spend abotu the same amount of time on the phone or “texting” at home then they would do at school. Children could also “cheat” by sending “text messages” about the test. The Students Would not be getting the “learn” out of school.

  13. Emily:

Banning cell phones during school would be a good idea because students shouldnt be using their cell phones during the day, unless it is and emergency. I also think they should be banned because students can speak with each other through text messaging with out the teachers knowing.Which could also lead to cheating on tests or quizes. =]

  14. ashley c:

Banning the cell phone use during school is realistic because that way the student could sit and text in class instead of doign thier work. They could also text someone who already took a test and get the answers. The student could recieve and make calls in the middle of class while the teeacher is talking or teaching. Also, some kids say they have thiem in cause of emergency but they can use the school phones if needed. That is why banning of the cell phones is a good idea.

  15. ashley w:

yes, banning cell phone use during school is a realistic method to ensure that students are not distracted from learning because knowing that you are allowed to use them is a distraction itself. if you’re allowed to just take out your cell phone in the middle of class and talk to people then you wouldn’t ever learn, you’d be too distracted listening to everyone you’re talking to, rather than the teacher.

  16. justin:

yes, because i would hate to here a cell phone during my learning and disturb me. i think it is ok to have a cell on you in school but it has to be off or on silent. i think somebody wouldnt like it if they where disturbed in anyway by cell phones. so i think it should not be allowed to be used in school.

  17. Haley:

Banning cell phone use during school is a good idea. Students are getting distracted enough already by other things, that this is just another way to miss notes or other things for assignments. By banning cell phone use during school, students may excel better because they are not tempted by text messaging to one another. By banning cell phone use for students during a school day, this coud be a chance to increase GPA’s.

  18. Courtney W.:

I think that banning the cell phone use in school is a realistic method. Students are already getting distracted from school because of their friends. We don’t need more distractions in class. If the rule didn’t apply then students wouldn’t pay attention in class because we would rather be playing games and listening to our ringtones in class. But on the other hand if something went wrong that would cause us to use our cell phone and can’t, then that would cause a problem. This is why I think banning the use of cell phones in class/school is a good method.

  19. Stephanie:

I think that cell phone use during school hours is a good method. With out this banning, students could use cell phones during test and cheat. That would not be fair to other students who actually studied for the test. During class, I students are there for learning. I wouldn’t want somebody phone to be going off during class or a test when other students and I are trying to learn and concentrate. It is also rude to had a child’s phone go off in the middle of class when the teacher is trying to teach. How much are you learning if you are sitting in class, having a conversation with your friend? Not much. So I do think that it is a good method for banning cell phones during class.

  20. tiffany:

Yes, I think that banning cell phones will be a good way to keep students from getting distraction while learning. It is a good method because there won’t be any distruptions in school while the teacher is talking such as cell phones going off in classor text messaging to another student. If there is an emergency they can use the office phone or a teacher’s phone. Otherwise, all cell phones should be off until school is over.

  21. DeVonte:

Yes i think banning cell phone use during school because cell phones are an distraction. Most of the time in class people play on there phones instead of learning and sometimes people phones go off during class. Your peers shouldn’t know what ringtone you got or whose calling you. Cell phones is disruption, if you have to use your phone to call your parents then go to the office. Instead of doing your writting they are texting and doing other things, And thats why cell phones should be banned from school……..

  22. Jessie:

I support this policy because many of our students have their cell phones on all day and in class, they are texting and chatting with people. Not technically banning them, but checkin students when they come into school that their cell phone is off and make sure it stays off during the whole entire school day. I know some people in our school who leave their cell phones on and they are texting people during class periods and it is a distraction to their learning because they are not paying attention to what the teacher is telling them so they can’t learn anything. If a student had their cell phone out during class and a teacher called on them while they were not paying any attention, then that is a distraction to their learning ability. Now I don’t have a cell phone so I can’t reall input about how I use it but if I did then I’m sure that I would get distracted by it. Even if a student has an emergency, their parents have the schools phone number and the school has the parents phone number so they can pretty much use that anytime they want instead of getting distracted by their cell phone in class/school.

  23. Arielle:

Banning cell phone use during the school day is a realistic method to ensure students are not distracted from learning. This is so beacuse when students are in school they should be paying attention and not playing/messing around with their cell phones. Me personally,I carry my cell phone around with me everywhere I go. I don’t turn it off in case of an emergency but, I keep it on vibrate in case something does come up. When students are in class and they are using their cell phones it distracts them from learning and it is rude to the teacher and other students.I also think that teachers should put their phones on vibrate or turn them off just like the students have to.I have had teachers this year and their cell phone has rung while we were taking a test or they were teaching. It is very disrespectful.

  24. Marvina:

Yes,banning cell phone use during the school day is a realistic method to ensure students are not disturbed from learning. I think this because during class, if students play around on their cell phones, they will not be listening to the teacher. This means they will not hear insructions, meaning they will not do their work, causing their grades to drop. Another reason why banning cell phone use during the school day is a realistic method is because during class, if a student is using their cell phone to make a call, they are disturbing their peers around them because they are trying to learn and not listen to their conversation. My last reason why I think that banning cell phone use during the school day is a realistic method is because if students are in class taking a test, they could also be texting one of their friends for the answers which is known as academic cheating. These are three reasons why I think that banning cell phone use during the school day is a realistic method to ensure students are not disturbed from learning.

  25. Andrew:

Of course banning cell phones in school is a good idea. It is an easy way for kids to cheat on tests and quizzes that they did not study for. So I think that cell phones should be banned.

  26. jessica:

i feel that this is a realistic method to ensure that students arent distracted from there school work, because if they cant use there cell phones during normal class time it will get rid of alot of the extra iner class conversations that have nothing to do with the activites that are being worked on in that perticular class

  27. woodie:

yes i do like the ban on cell phone use because it takes away valuable school work time.

  28. Alex:

Banning cellphone use is good because without the ban kids would never be paying any attention in class. Evaryone would be getting bad grades and have to re-do the whole school-year. Teachers would really dislike it if we didnt have a ban on cell phone use during the day.

  29. Marlene:

I think that banning cell phone use during the day is a good method to ensure students are not distracted from learning. I say this, because during school students tend to text message someone an dnot do there work. Also because there isn’t any reason why you would need to use your cell phone at school. Another thing is that students can try and cheat by giving each other answers through the phones. This is why I support the current school policy.

  30. SHAI:

YES I DO BELIVE THAT BANNING CELLPHONES IS A METHOD TO ENSURE STUDENTS ARENT GETTIN DISTRACTED DURING SCHOOL.THAT’S WHY I BELIVE IT’S A GOOD IDEA FOR BAN CELL PHONES.I THINK THIS BECAUSE WHEN STUDENTS ARE IN CLASS THEY NEED TO BE PAYIN ATTENTION IN CLASS LEARNING INSTEAD OF TALKING ON THE PHONE OR TEXT MESSAGING SOMEONE.IF STUDENTS USE THERE CELLS PHONES DURING SCHOOL THEY WONT BEABLE TO HEAR THEIR TEACHERS GIVING A LESSON OR INSTRUCTIONS BEACAUSE THEY’LL BE SO BUSY WORRIED ABOUT THEIR CELL PHONE AND THIS WELL CAUSE THIER GRADES TO DROP.BUT WITHOUT CELL PHONES IN SCHOOL ALL STUDENTS WELL BE ON TASK DOING WHAT THEY NEED TO DO AND MAKING SURE THEY ARE FOLLOWING ALL INSTRUCTIONS GIVING TO THEM WHICH WILL MAKE THEM A BETTER STUDENT.
